Frequently asked questions
How many free AI imports do I get, and what counts?
Each Apple Account gets 10 free AI imports. Photos, screenshots, pasted text, web pages without standard recipe data, YouTube descriptions and AI translation each count once, but only when a recipe is actually read. A photo of a finished dish, or anything with no recipe in it, doesn't count. Pages with standard recipe data, and videos whose description links to such a page, are organized on your phone with no AI and don't count. After that, a one-time purchase in Settings → Ajimi full version removes the limit, with no subscription. Saving recipes, cook mode, scaling, the shopping list and export are always free.
How do I restore my purchase on a new phone or after reinstalling?
Sign in to the App Store with the Apple Account you bought it with, then go to Settings → Ajimi full version and tap Restore Purchase. Your used free imports also belong to your Apple Account, so reinstalling doesn't reset them.
Can I share the unlock with my family?
Not at the moment. The unlock isn't available through Family Sharing, so each Apple Account buys its own. Everyone gets the free download and 10 free AI imports on their own Apple Account.
Are my recipes uploaded anywhere?
No. Your recipes, photos and shopping list stay on your phone, with no account and no cloud sync. Only when you import or translate with AI are those photos or that text sent through our server to Anthropic's Claude, and our server doesn't keep them. When you switch phones, restore from an iCloud or computer backup or use Quick Start, and your data comes along; you can also export a JSON copy in Settings.
Why can't I import an Instagram or TikTok post directly?
Those posts need a login, and Ajimi doesn't sign in for you or download videos. Take screenshots of the recipe (up to 3) and import them as photos, or copy the caption and paste it. YouTube videos can be pasted or shared to Ajimi directly.
What if the AI gets something wrong?
The AI can misread words or amounts, so you check every recipe and can edit it before saving, and any time after. When something is hard to read, the AI says so instead of guessing amounts. If you get a strange result, email support@edgelingo.com; a screenshot and the source help us find the cause faster.
Does it work offline?
Your saved recipes, cook mode, timers, scaling, the shopping list and Cook With What I Have work without a connection. Importing web pages and YouTube videos, playing videos, and organizing photos or text with AI need the internet.
Which languages are supported? Can it translate recipes?
The app is available in English, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. When you import a recipe in another language, the AI can translate it into your app language, or keep the original and only tidy up the format; you can choose in Settings or for each import.
